Hi, I’m Sarah, the Nursery Manager at Old Crofts Bank.

I’m proud to lead a highly experienced and passionate team—many of whom have been with us for over 10 years and hold advanced qualifications and specialist training. Together, we create a warm, nurturing environment where our children feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn.

Our nursery is a true home from home, filled with natural resources that spark curiosity and wonder. Each room is carefully designed to meet the developmental needs of our babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, and our spaces are continually adapted based on the children’s evolving interests.

One of our standout features is our beautiful, tranquil garden, which offers endless opportunities for imaginative play, exploration, and calm connection with nature. Indoors and outdoors, our children are supported to learn at their own pace and in ways that suit them best.

Mealtimes are a social and meaningful part of the day, with our children enjoying healthy meals in small groups—and even helping with serving, promoting independence and a sense of responsibility.

About you
You are an Early Years Educator / Practitioner / Nursery Nurse or similar and you\'re looking for an Early Years Educator/Nursery Nurse/Early Years Practitioner role that allows you flexibility of working shifts around your other commitments.

You enjoy supporting and encouraging the natural curiosity and excitement of young children and were born to teach and shape the future of our younger generations.

You have a natural, nurturing, openness, a warm and positive outlook, and you care about learning and education standards in the UK.

(We can sometimes consider unqualified Educators, so if you can demonstrate the necessary values and enthusiasm for working within this environment, submit an application. Nothing ventured nothing gained).

What you\'ll be doing
You’ll be helping to provide cover for the children as and when needed. This could be for periods of holiday, sickness, or even vacancy gaps. Sometimes you\'ll support for a full day, or it may just be a morning or afternoon session.

Creativity is key. Teaching young children allows for hands on arts and crafts, storytelling, exercise, and educational games. It’s essential to keep things fresh and try new activities to keep attention spans engaged. Of course, we work within the EYFS standards, but that doesn\'t stop you from engaging your creative flair and enthusiasm for learning.

What you\'ll need

  • Experience working with children or a full and relevant Level 2 or above qualification within early years. (We can sometimes consider unqualified Educators, as long as they demonstrate the necessary qualities, values, and enthusiasm for working within this environment. If you think you\'ve got the right attitude and abilities, submit an application, who knows it might be the best thing you ever did. Nothing ventured nothing gained!)
  • Experience as an Early Years Educator (Nursery Nurse/Practitioner) or having worked with children under the age of 5, is advantageous
  • Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is desirable
