Hello, I’m Aimee, the Nursery Manager at Derby Road. Our nursery is thoughtfully designed across two levels with tailored spaces that spark curiosity and inspire a lifelong love of learning. Our baby suite offers a calm, home-from-home environment where little ones feel secure, settled, and supported every day. Imaginative play is at the heart of what we do. Children love exploring our outdoor area, where engaging activities encourage creativity and development in a natural, inspiring setting.
About You
You are a Level 2 or above qualified Early Years Educator / Practitioner / Nursery Nurse or similar and you’re looking for an Early Years Educator/Nursery Nurse/Early Years Practitioner role that allows you flexibility of working shifts around your other commitments. You enjoy supporting and encouraging the natural curiosity and excitement of young children and were born to teach and shape the future of our younger generations. You have a natural, nurturing openness, a warm and positive outlook, and you care about learning and education standards in the UK. (We can sometimes consider unqualified Educators, so if you can demonstrate the necessary values and enthusiasm for working within this environment, submit an application.)
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be helping to provide cover for the children as and when needed. This could be for periods of holiday, sickness, or even vacancy gaps. Sometimes you’ll support for a full day, or it may just be a morning or afternoon session. You’ll likely start most of your days with a fully formulated plan… That will soon get completely derailed though… Pivoting when the circumstances call for it is a regular occurrence in child care! Creativity is key. Teaching young children allows for hands-on arts and crafts, storytelling, exercise, and educational games. It’s important to keep things fresh and try new activities to keep attention spans engaged. Of course, we work within the EYFS standards, but that doesn’t stop you from engaging your creative flair and enthusiasm for learning.
What you’ll need
- A full and relevant Level 2 or above qualification within early years.
- Experience as an Early Years Educator (Nursery Nurse/Practitioner) or having worked with children under the age of 5 is advantageous.
- Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is desirable.
- Reflecting the Storal values around responsibility, openness and working together.
