Location: Children 1st Newark Nursery School by Storal

Address: Muskham Road, Newark NG24 1DP

Salary: £12.90ph - £13.30ph (salary will depend on experience and qualification)

Hours: 40 hours, Monday to Friday or 16 - 24 hours over 2 or 3 days

Qualification: Level 2 or above in Childcare

Hi, I’m Sophie, the Nursery Manager at Newark Nursery. With 10 years of experience in early years education, I began my career as an apprentice and have proudly managed our nursery for the past 6 years. I feel incredibly lucky to lead such a dedicated and passionate team who ensure every child has the opportunity to grow, develop, and thrive in our care. Our nursery is a true home-from-home, with warm, welcoming spaces filled with natural resources that ignite curiosity and inspire a love of learning. Outside, our large garden is a hub of adventure and imagination—featuring a fort, castle, and digger world, offering endless opportunities for play and discovery.

Purpose: To give children healthy foundations in fantastic settings, helping them build the confidence and resilience that will set them up for success later in life.

How you’ll spend your time here:

  • You’ll plan activities, observe progress and manage personal care for children.
  • Applying the Storal curriculum & our pedagogy principles to our children daily.
  • Seeking out learning opportunities in everyday routines such as mealtimes & transitions.
  • Bonding with your children and their families by engaging in meaningful moments.
  • Delivering high levels of care and empathy, with an understanding that every opportunity can be a learning opportunity.

Qualifications:

  • An Early Years qualification at Level 2/3
  • Experience of working with all age groups within Early Years settings
  • Knowledge of the EYFS framework would be advantageous
