Hi, I’m Amy, the Nursery Manager at Shepshed. I’ve proudly been part of the Shepshed team for my entire 18-year childcare career—starting as a Nursery Nurse in the baby room and now, for the past 4 years, having the privilege of leading this incredible team as Manager. My wonderful team is truly dedicated to delivering the highest quality of care and education, supporting each and every child to reach their full potential. Our beautiful building and extensive gardens provide the perfect backdrop for a rich, engaging learning experience. With dedicated spaces for all age groups—including a unique outdoor classroom, planting areas, and opportunities for wildlife exploration—we nurture curiosity and spark imagination every day. Our children explore inspiring environments including our baking room, cosy story space, a home corner and large construction area. Our newly refurbished baby room offers a calm, cosy, and nurturing space where our caring team follows each baby’s individual routine, creating a home-from-home environment right from the start.
About you
You are a Level 2 or above qualified, Early Years Educator / Practitioner / Nursery Nurse or similar who enjoys supporting and encouraging the natural curiosity and excitement of young children. In other words, you were born to teach and shape the future of our younger generations. Creativity is key. Teaching young children allows for hands on arts and crafts, storytelling, exercise, and educational games. It’s important to keep things fresh and try new activities to keep attention spans engaged. What you’ll need
- A full and relevant Level 2 or above qualification within early years. (We can sometimes consider unqualified Educators, as long as they demonstrate the necessary qualities, values and enthusiasm for working within this environment.)
- Experience as an Early Years Educator (Nursery Nurse/Practitioner) or having worked with children under the age of 5, is advantageous.
- Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is desirable.
- Reflecting the Storal values around responsibility, openness and working together.
