Syston’s Purpose: To give children healthy foundations in fantastic settings, helping them build the confidence and resilience that will set them up for success later in life.
How you’ll spend your time here:
- You’ll be helping to provide cover for the children as and when needed. This could be for periods of holiday, sickness, or vacancy gaps.
- Sometimes you’ll support for a full day, or it may just be a morning or afternoon session.
- You’ll likely start most of your days with a fully formulated plan, but pivoting when the circumstances call for it is a regular occurrence in child care!
- Creativity is key. Teaching young children allows for hands-on art and crafts, storytelling, exercise, and educational games.
- It’s important to keep things fresh and try new activities to keep attention spans engaged.

- Must hold a Level 2 or above qualified, Early Years Educator / Practitioner / Nursery Nurse or similar.
- You enjoy supporting and encouraging the natural curiosity and excitement of young children.
- You have a natural, nurturing openness, a warm and positive outlook, and you care about learning and education standards in the UK.
What you’ll need:
- A full and relevant Level 2 or above qualification within early years. We can sometimes consider unqualified Educators, as long as they demonstrate the necessary qualities, values and enthusiasm for working within this environment.
- Experience as an Early Years Educator (Nursery Nurse/Practitioner) or having worked with children under the age of 5 is advantageous.
- Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is desirable.
