Hello, I’m Gemma, the Nursery Manager at Cherry Tree. Our experienced team brings a wealth of early years knowledge, and we’re passionate about encouraging children to be inquisitive, imaginative, and confident learners. In our stimulating environment, children quickly develop a genuine love of learning and a curious mind. We’re proud to have received the Health Together award from the Local Authority, recognising our commitment to providing healthy, nutritious, and balanced meals for all our children—supporting their wellbeing as well as their development.

Who & What is Storal? It’s our collective group of Nurseries that we are happily a part of here at Cherry Tree. Storal stands for high quality outcomes for children and are passionate about Early Years. Bringing your whole self is a must if that’s pink hair, being Neurospicy or having a unique pastime, we encourage it all. Your unique self is what makes our Nursery even better.

About you: You are a Level 2 or above qualified, Early Years Educator / Practitioner / Nursery Nurse or similar who enjoys supporting and encouraging the natural curiosity and excitement of young children. In other words, you were born to teach and shape the future of our younger generations. You have a natural, nurturing openness, a warm and positive outlook, and you care about learning and education standards in the UK.

What you’ll be doing: You’ll likely start most of your days with a fully formulated plan. That will soon get completely derailed though. Pivoting when the circumstances call for it is a regular occurrence in child care! Creativity is key. Teaching young children allows for hands on arts and crafts, storytelling, exercise, and educational games. It’s important to keep things fresh and try new activities to keep attention spans engaged. Of course we work within the EYFS standards, but that doesn’t stop you from engaging your creative flair and enthusiasm for learning.

What you’ll need: A full and relevant Level 2 or above qualification within early years. (We can sometimes consider unqualified Educators, as long as they demonstrate the necessary qualities, values and enthusiasm for working within this environment. If you think you’ve got the right attitude and abilities, submit an application, who knows it might be the best thing you ever did. Nothing ventured nothing gained!) Experience as an Early Years Educator (Nursery Nurse/Practitioner) or having worked with children under the age of 5, is advantageous. Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is desirable. Reflecting the Storal values around responsibility, openness and working together.
