Hours: Casual, variable hours, Monday‑Friday, Full Time and Part Time
Salary: £12.71 per hour to £13.30 per hour; salary depends on qualifications and experience
Qualifications: Ideally hold a Level 2 or above in childcare. Experience as an Early Years Educator (Nursery Nurse/Practitioner) or having worked with children under the age of 5 is advantageous. Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is desirable.
Responsibilities: You’ll be helping to provide cover for children as and when needed – for periods of holiday, sickness, or vacancy gaps. Support may be for a full day or just a morning or afternoon session. You’ll likely start most of your days with a fully formulated plan, which may become derailed and require pivoting when circumstances call for it. Creativity is key. Teaching young children allows for hands‑on arts and crafts, storytelling, exercise, and educational games. Keep activities fresh and try new approaches to maintain engagement within the EYFS standards.
Qualifications & Experience: Level 2 or above qualified Early Years Educator / Practitioner / Nursery Nurse (or similar). Flexibility around shifts is desired. A natural, nurturing, warm, and positive outlook; passion for encouraging the natural curiosity and excitement of young children. Demonstrated values and enthusiasm for working within a childcare environment. Basic compliance with safeguarding and DBS requirements.
