Hello, I’m Kerry, the Nursery Manager at Bilborough. I’m proud to lead a passionate and dedicated team focused on providing a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. We work closely to help our children develop the confidence, skills, and independence they need to be ready for school and beyond. Our outdoor learning space is truly remarkable—offering children the chance to explore, play, and connect with nature every day. Inside and out, our unique environments—from the indoor marketplace to the outdoor post office, petrol station, and village shop—spark creativity and support learning through play.

How you’ll spend your time here:

  • You’ll be helping to provide cover for the children as and when needed. This could be for periods of holiday, sickness, or even vacancy gaps.
  • Sometimes you’ll support for a full day, or it may just be a morning or afternoon session.
  • You’ll likely start most of your days with a fully formulated plan, but pivoting when the circumstances call for it is a regular occurrence in child care!
  • Creativity is key. Teaching young children allows for hands-on arts and crafts, storytelling, exercise, and educational games.
  • It’s important to keep things fresh and try new activities to keep attention spans engaged.
  • Of course, we work within the EYFS standards, but that doesn’t stop you from engaging your creative flair and enthusiasm for learning.

We’d love to talk to you if you have the following:

  • Ideally a Level 2 or above qualified Early Years Educator / Practitioner / Nursery Nurse or similar and you’re looking for an Early Years Educator/Nursery Nurse/Early Years Practitioner role that allows you flexibility of working shifts around your other commitments.
  • You enjoy supporting and encouraging the natural curiosity and excitement of young children and were born to teach and shape the future of our younger generations.
  • You have a natural, nurturing openness, a warm and positive outlook, and you care about learning and education standards in the UK.
  • We can sometimes consider unqualified Educators, so if you can demonstrate the necessary values and enthusiasm for working within this environment, submit an application.

What you’ll need:

  • A Level 2 or above qualification within early years. We can sometimes consider unqualified Educators, as long as they demonstrate the necessary qualities, values and enthusiasm for working within this environment.
  • Experience as an Early Years Educator (Nursery Nurse/Practitioner) or having worked with children under the age of 5 is advantageous.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is desirable.
  • Reflecting the Storal values around responsibility, openness and working together.

Benefits for You:

  • Enhanced holidays, paid sick pay, extra wellness day off (yearly) and you can access your pay before payday with Pay Captain.
  • Childcare Discount + Funding, compassionate leave & enhanced maternity leave.
  • Partnerships with Vitality & Peppy; fertility & menopause support, gym discount, free movie tickets.
  • Investing in your future with micro-learning, financial stability tools & the Storal Support Fund.
  • Termly inset days, team member app and Storal Awards.
