The predicted salary is between 13 - 13 £ per hour.

As a Nursery Chef/Cook, you will provide essential support during periods of leave, absence, or when additional help is needed. Working closely with the Nursery Cook, you’ll assist in preparing nutritious, freshly made meals while maintaining the highest standards of safety and hygiene in the nursery kitchen at all times. Your flexibility and reliability will ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen during these periods.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Catering for children with specific dietary needs.
  • Working to a very high standard in food and hygiene, adhering to the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, Food Safety, Health and Safety and Ofsted guidelines and regulations.
  • Ensuring that all children are kept safe and have rich stimulating eating experiences.
  • Maintaining stock levels and ensuring stock rotation.
  • Following COSHH and other relevant guidelines.
  • Deputising for the permanent Nursery Cook in all absences, with expectation of deputising full‑time when required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Level 2 Food and Hygiene qualification.
  • Experience in a commercial kitchen as an assistant cook/chef or similar.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and COSHH.

Hours, Salary and Benefits:

  • Hours: Casual, 0‑hour contract.
  • Salary: Up to £13.25 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
