Stopford has an exciting opportunity for a Project Assurance Manager to join our Commercial Group to support with project delivery during the construction phase of a significant upgrade project. This particular project is with a major blue-chip organisation within our Resource Recovery Sector. You will be based on site at Liverpool Docks with the occasional requirement to attend our Knutsford office. This is a full-time permanent position.

The Project Assurance Manager role: Reporting to the Quality Systems Manager and working closely with the site-based Construction Manager, the Project Assurance Manager will support the onsite project delivery team to consistently deliver to the required quality to achieve ‘defect free delivery’ and ‘right first time’. The Project Assurance Manager will undertake operational inspections and audits to check compliance with drawings, specifications, procedures and good practice and identify opportunities for improvement. The Project Assurance Manager to be the expert practitioner to provide ‘hands on’ specialist support.
Key Responsibilities of the Project Assurance Manager include:
- Working with our project delivery team from preconstruction through construction and into post construction to help us deliver defect free, high-quality projects.
- Develop and implement Quality Assurance (QA/Quality Control (QC) programs, standards and processes for our projects.
- Evaluate and approve Contractor Project Quality Plans, processes and reports during the initial project phases.
- Perform technical inspections and carry out audits on project within your remit and across every package (structures, equipment, design etc).
- Monitor site level QA/QC procedures to address quality issues proactively.
- Develop guidelines and training for external and internal stakeholders to ensure uniformity in quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with offsite quality management systems and protocols, including FATs.
- Own and report on project quality metrics, providing improvement opportunities.
Role requirements for Project Assurance Manager include:
- ISO 9001:2015 Internal or Lead Audit certified (recent application of audit skills essential).
- A Chartered Member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) or an appropriate engineering institute or working towards.
- Previous relevant experience of leading a Quality/Project team.
- Experience working with a multi-discipline engineering design, procurement and construction team.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- Working knowledge of Office 365 including One Drive and SharePoint with proficient use of Word and Excel.
- Full UK/EEC driving licence.
Security Clearance: The successful candidate may be required to achieve and maintain security clearance of at least Security Check level (SC clearance).
