Summary of the role: STOP THE TRAFFIK prevents vulnerable communities from being recruited, trafficked, and exploited. Our targeted prevention programmes and intelligence products disrupt the criminal business of human trafficking, making it too high-risk and low-profit to be viable. This role will oversee our Intelligence Team, which provides strategic and tactical insights to law enforcement, financial institutions and businesses to help them identify and mitigate exposure to modern slavery and human trafficking (MSHT), and effectively spot and mitigate incidents. Our insights are delivered through two products: Exploitation Analytics (for financial institutions and digital network platforms) and Business Intelligence (for businesses and supply chains). Our products are also used for the development of policy and practice locally, nationally and internationally. The Intelligence Team is responsible for both marketing and delivering these products. As a result, our Head of Strategic and Tactical Intelligence will work with the Head of Development to oversee the sales pipeline, representing STOP THE TRAFFIK externally to generate and nurture leads. This role will ensure all intelligence products are delivered to a high standard, and that their measurable impact in preventing human trafficking is captured and communicated. There is also the need to invest in the development of our products and services, and the responsibilities of this role will include the development of global strategic intelligence function for human trafficking, processes to deliver strategic and tactical intelligence across STOP THE TRAFFIK, and the technological solution to continually improve the analysis of data to deliver cutting-edge insight.
Key responsibilities:
- Team Management & Leadership: Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of intelligence analysts, data analysts and developers, and client managers to produce high-quality, data-led intelligence products. Oversee all safeguarding that may arise as a result of intelligence coming into the organisation, as well as a result of products and services delivered, supported by our Head of Prevention and Director of Intelligence and Prevention. Develop and deliver an annual strategic assessment and implement a structured intelligence cycle that connects long-term strategy with tactical delivery and operational decision-making. Work within the Senior Leadership Team to ensure organisational strategic focus against annual impact and income targets.
- Commercial Sales: Generate leads by representing STOP THE TRAFFIK at sector conferences, presenting and pitching, and nurturing existing relationships. Support the Head of Development in overseeing and managing the sales pipeline for commercial clients, from prospecting to contracting.
- Product Oversight: Oversee intelligence reports based on internal data that are shared with banks, businesses, and law enforcement to drive action. Oversee the team that maintains and develops our data products and tools. Lead the development of our Traffik Analysis Hub (TA Hub) and STOP APP, managing our Data Team to improve functionality and user experience of the platform to drive greater impact. Identify and develop new products, services, and data offerings that increase our impact.
The above responsibilities are subject to the general duties and responsibilities contained in the Statement of Conditions of Employment. The duties of this post may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the post or level of responsibility entailed.
Person specification:
- Proven experience leading teams within intelligence-led environments, with responsibility for strategic direction, prioritisation, and operational decision-making within structured intelligence cycles, including tasking and coordination processes.
