Position purpose: As a Team Lead, Brand Communications, you will lead a team responsible for developing clear, consistent, and effective brand communications across campaigns, propositions, and customer touchpoints. You will help define how the brand is expressed in market by shaping communication strategy, campaign messaging frameworks, and audience-led narratives that support commercial goals. This role combines team leadership with strategic brand and communications planning. You will work closely with marketing, creative, and senior stakeholders to translate business priorities into focused communication approaches, ensuring campaigns are positioned clearly and consistently across channels.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop a team focused on brand communications, campaign messaging, and strategic content planning.
- Define communication approaches for campaigns and initiatives, ensuring alignment with brand positioning, audience needs, and commercial objectives.
- Develop and maintain messaging frameworks, narrative structures, and communication principles across key customer segments and propositions.
- Partner with marketing, creative, and business stakeholders to shape briefs and identify the clearest and most effective communication strategy for each initiative.
- Support campaign development by guiding message hierarchy, positioning, and audience relevance across digital, print, video, and integrated marketing channels.
- Provide strategic feedback and direction to ensure communications are consistent, on-brand, and effective, without acting solely as a copy approval function.
- Collaborate with designers, video teams, and cross-functional partners to ensure communication strategy is translated effectively into creative execution.
- Build strong working relationships across the organisation and act as a key partner in aligning stakeholders around communication objectives and campaign direction.
- Improve ways of working, planning, and communication standards across the team to support high-quality delivery.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and changes in customer behaviour to inform brand communication strategy and best practice.
- Support presentations, planning sessions, and stakeholder reviews by articulating communication rationale and strategic recommendations clearly.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in brand communications, messaging strategy, campaign strategy, content strategy, or a related marketing discipline.
- Previous experience managing or mentoring a team within a marketing, brand, or creative environment.
- Strong experience developing communication strategies or messaging approaches across campaigns and multiple channels.
- Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven organisations with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Strong understanding of digitally led marketing and integrated campaign development.
- Ability to translate complex business, financial, or product information into clear and compelling customer-facing communications.
- Experience within financial services, trading, fintech, or another complex regulated sector is advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with senior partners across the organisation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills, sound judgement, and attention to detail.
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience is desirable.
Working environment: Permanent, full-time, 4 days per week in office.
