StoneX Metals is a precious metals processing company based in West Bromwich, acquired by StoneX Group in October 2024. StoneX Metals specialises in the recovery and recycling of precious metals, with expertise in extracting silver, gold, platinum and palladium from various materials including photographic, electronics and industrial waste.

The HR Advisor will act as the primary HR point of contact for StoneX Metals Ltd (West Bromwich) while supporting broader EMEA HR Operations. The role is responsible for delivering efficient, compliant, and high-quality HR services across the employee lifecycle, ensuring a consistent employee experience and adherence to regulatory and internal standards.

Primary duties will include:

  • Employee Lifecycle Management: Manage end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes, including contracts, background checks, right-to-work verification, and induction. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records within the HRIS (Oracle). Oversee probation processes, including manager guidance and documentation. Support employee changes (e.g. promotions, transfers, compensation adjustments) through formal documentation.
  • HR Operations & Administration: Provide comprehensive administrative support across all HR activities. Manage the HR inbox, ensuring timely and professional responses to employee and manager queries. Coordinate payroll inputs (joiners, leavers, changes) in line with audit and compliance requirements. Produce employment references and standard HR documentation.
  • Employee Relations & Advisory: Support HR Business Partners in employee relations matters, including performance, disciplinary and grievance processes. Provide first-line advice to managers and employees on HR policies and procedures. Assist in formal meetings (including note-taking) and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Policy & Compliance: Ensure all HR activities align with UK employment law, GDPR, and internal policies. Support compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g. SMCR, where applicable). Manage visa tracking and immigration-related administration.
  • Data, Reporting & Insights: Generate HR metrics and reports (e.g. headcount, turnover). Maintain data integrity within HR systems and support audit requirements. Contribute to HR reporting and presentations.
  • Projects & Continuous Improvement: Support and contribute to local and EMEA HR initiatives and projects. Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, efficiency, and service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in an HR advisory or HR operations role, ideally within financial services (minimum 2+ years).
  • Strong understanding of HR lifecycle processes, particularly onboarding and employee administration.
  • Experience using an HRIS (preferably Oracle).
  • Working knowledge of UK employment practices and GDPR requirements.
  • CIPD qualification (or studying towards) preferred.
