The EMEA Tax Accountant will oversee income tax provision preparation, manage tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions in the EMEA region, and ensure adherence to all applicable tax laws and regulations. The role requires a highly analytical individual with strong leadership skills and the ability to navigate complex tax matters in a fast‑paced, multinational environment.
Responsibilities
- Corporate Tax Compliance: prepare UK tax returns, calculate corporation tax payments to HMRC, produce tax notes for UK, Poland, and Cyprus, and maintain monthly corporate income tax journals.
- US GAAP income tax provision workbooks for EMEA entities and R&D claims.
- Draft UK tax strategy and SAO disclosures, monitor legislative changes, and coordinate with external advisers on non‑UK tax returns for UAE, Netherlands, Cyprus, Poland, and other jurisdictions.
- Manage the tax compliance calendar, AEOI/FATCA submissions, and global AEOI compliance for UK, Singapore, Luxembourg, Cyprus, Seychelles, Australia, and Cayman.
- Maintain transfer pricing documentation, prepare monthly global transfer pricing journals, and assist with transfer pricing opportunities.
- Employer Tax Compliance: prepare PAYE settlement agreements for HMRC and provide tax planning and risk management advice to reduce the group’s effective tax rate.
- Assist with initiatives driven by the Global Tax Team, liaise with corporate groups, and perform general administration for the EMEA Tax Team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting; CPA, CMA, or tax qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years of post‑qualification experience in a public accounting firm.
- Exposure to income tax provision preparation and multi‑jurisdictional tax compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to transfer pricing, structuring corporate transactions, and financial services company experience.
- Experience working for a company with U.S.-based clients.
Technology
- Knowledge of UK tax software and good Excel skills.
- Familiarity with Oracle and Power BI.
