Overview

The purpose of the role is to support and assist the Shift Supervisor in the production of silver from waste products. The successful candidate will be able to multitask and carry out all aspects of the process, from incineration to cupellation. Work closely with your Supervisor to ensure each shift runs smoothly. Support continuous improvement initiatives for the business. Help deliver new ideas and strategies to support growth. Work closely with other site production teams. Assist the SHE Manager in building a better H&S culture.

Job Purpose and Responsibilities

  • Train and become competent in all aspects of production (Blast Furnace, Cupel, Rotary).
  • Assist in all aspects of production as required by your Supervisor.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties.
  • Ensure the most effective and efficient operation of all relevant plant.
  • Liaise with Supervisor and other Managers as needed.
  • Become a site First Aider.
  • Ensure environmental and permit standards are maintained at all times.
  • Report accidents and near misses.
  • Adhere to health & safety procedures; ensure correct RPE/PPE is worn at all times.
  • Willing to be a H&S representative and site champion.

Qualifications

  • Previous foundry experience is advantageous.
  • Some knowledge/experience of working with molten metal.
  • Health & safety conscious; willing to champion H&S on the shop floor.
  • FLT certification is advantageous.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to think on your feet and use initiative.
  • A 'can do' attitude.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, production-led environment.
  • Flexible and reliable.
  • Willingness to train on multiple pieces of plant.
