StoneX has acquired a precious metals processing company in West Bromwich, specializing in recovery and recycling of precious metals like silver, gold, platinum, and palladium from various waste materials. The integration aims to enhance refining capabilities and expand product offerings.
Role Purpose
The role involves supporting the Engineering Manager and team with mechanical and electrical maintenance, process improvement projects, and ensuring health, safety & environmental compliance, including assisting the SHE team regularly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the maintenance team to ensure plant efficiency and safety
- Assist in implementing process improvement projects
- Support the delivery of growth strategies
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve plant issues
- Support SHE compliance of plant and equipment
Responsibilities:
- Perform planned preventative maintenance and develop systems
- Respond to and resolve breakdowns
- Coordinate with office and site teams
- Conduct risk assessments for non-routine tasks
- Troubleshoot and identify issues with plant equipment
- Assist with installation of new equipment
- Perform quality checks and emergency repairs
- Lockout & safe isolation procedures
- Maintain and repair equipment such as motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, and plumbing
Qualifications:
- 17th or 18th edition electrical qualification (desirable)
- Welding & fabricating experience (advantageous)
- Experience in heavy industry or foundry environment
- Knowledge of preventative/reactive maintenance
- Health, Safety & Environmental awareness
- Minimum 1-year experience in manufacturing or heavy plant
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Good communication skills at all levels
- Proactive attitude
- Flexible, reliable, punctual
- Attention to detail
- FLT & MEWP licenses (training provided)
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
- Recognized engineering apprenticeship
- Experience with CMMS and lean principles
