Job purpose
New Business Manager role to support senior leadership across EMEA Prime Brokerage and London Cross Asset Sales teams, with responsibility for managing the teams’ strategic initiatives and governance frameworks, whilst implementing operational efficiencies.
The role will work closely with the senior leadership, sales and trading, technology and across all control teams.
Responsibilities
- Support the business heads with the implementation of their strategic initiatives.
- Support new business approval processes, ensuring appropriate sign-off frameworks are in place for new products, markets, and client relationships.
- Drive business transformation initiatives including technology and infrastructure improvements, operating model reviews, and product or market expansion projects.
- Manage and continually review vendor use across teams.
- Work closely with the control groups to improve the efficiency and timelines associated with client onboarding.
- Maintain a robust governance framework for the business, including management of operational risk events, incident escalation, and the implementation of audit recommendations.
- Monitor the evolving regulatory landscape (including but not limited FCA, EMIR, Mi FID II) and ensure timely escalation and response to new requirements impacting the business.
- Maintain accurate market access documentation for all products, which should be continually reviewed across the regional compliance teams
- Act as a control point for regulatory submissions and internal audit requirements relevant to the PB and cross-asset platform
- Develop and track KPI’s to drive cost efficiency
- Work with Finance to ensure revenue and costs are reflected correctly on the balance sheet
- Produce and present P&L commentary and management information to senior leadership and group finance on a regular basis.
- Work with business heads on creation and tracking of team’s budgets.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with counterpart business managers and COOs across other Stone X divisions globally, facilitating knowledge sharing and best practice adoption .
Qualifications
- Significant experience in a Business Manager or COO role within prime brokerage, cross asset sales, or a closely related institutional capital markets business.
- Degree educated preferred.
- Hands-on experience of regulatory reporting obligations and control frameworks relevant to FCA-regulated broker-dealers or investment banks.
- Strong project management credentials
- Understanding of the current regulatory environment, geo-political & economic drivers and the impacts of regulatory & economic change on this business and its client base.
- Excellent written and verbal communication as well as customer service skills.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint.
- Strong analytical skillset, able to display sound judgement and commercial mindset.
- Excellent organisation and multitasking skills.
- Desire to work as part of a broader global team across disparate geographies.
- Autonomous self-starter, able to work under own initiative.
- Strong work ethic, with an emphasis on attention to detail.
- Must be flexible to work foreign market hours when necessary.
