Responsibilities
Position Purpose
To support the month‑end close and reconciliation processes across multiple entities, helping ensure accurate financial reporting, strong control, and timely delivery of key finance outputs. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a multi‑entity financial services environment, with support across audit and statutory reporting. The role operates within a structured team environment with review and support from senior finance members.
- Assist with the month‑end close process across multiple entities, including the UK, Irish Digital, Cyprus, Poland and smaller legacy companies.
- Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments and fixed asset accounting, with appropriate review and oversight.
- Support daily reconciliation processes, including bank, trading and client reconciliations, investigating and resolving differences in a timely manner.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for review, ensuring accounts are appropriately supported.
- Investigate reconciling items and escalate issues where appropriate.
- Support adherence to internal controls, finance policies and month‑end timelines.
- Assist with year‑end activities, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor queries.
- Support statutory reporting processes across the relevant jurisdictions.
- Contribute to process improvements, with a focus on enhancing controls, efficiency and automation.
- With monthly variance analysis and review of intercompany differences.
Qualifications
- Part‑qualified (or studying towards) ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Experience in a financial accounting role, ideally within a multi‑entity environment.
- Understanding of month‑end processes, including accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Experience performing reconciliations (bank, trading or client preferred but not essential for all areas).
- Exposure to audit processes or statutory reporting is beneficial but not required.
- Familiarity with accounting systems (e.g. Oracle) and reconciliation tools (e.g. Blackline) is advantageous.
- Strong Excel skills, with the ability to work with and analyse large data sets.
