Park Lane Bath Stone Ltd is the proud producer of the famous dimensional limestone block that Bath and other cities are made from. Based in Corsham, near Bath, our mine has a long history of producing beautiful and high-quality Bath stone for demanding clients all over the world. Due to high demand, we are currently looking for enthusiastic operatives to join our team at Park Lane mine.
The Role
The successful candidate will assist in the day-to-day operation of the mine, both above and below ground, utilising a variety of plant to carry out operations extracting and preparing our stone. Training will be undertaken to national occupational standards and will include all machine and face training with accredited assessment and certification.
Pay: Starting £16 per hour, negotiable depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Operate fixed and mobile saws
- Operate mobile plant machinery to remove and prepare blocks such as telehandlers, tractors, excavators, and loaders
- Assist in day-to-day operations reporting to the mine manager
- Ensure safe operations and adherence to H&S legislation
- Carry out mine maintenance to ensure operations run smoothly
- Perform quality checks
Schedule
- Monday to Thursday: 0700–1700
- Friday: 0700–1300
Work authorisation: Authorised to work in United Kingdom (required)
Work Location: In person, no opportunity for remote work. Due to the location of the mine, you will need to be able to reliably commute without public transport.
Requirements
- Experience in a quarry/mine environment is advantageous but not essential.
- Plant machinery experience preferred but not essential.
- Proactive problem solver.
- Ability to adapt to situations and overcome challenges.
