A tier 1 UAE-based venture capital fund is looking for an investment professional to join its growing regional team. The individual will manage end-to-end VC investment workstreams from deal sourcing to execution, while supporting portfolio companies’ growth and representing the firm across the regional startup ecosystem. The firm manages significant AUM and has invested in and helped build some of the leading success stories in the region.
This role will suit someone in the early stage of their career (2-4 YOE), with a genuine passion for VC / technology and prior experience in investment banking, PE, VC, start-ups or consultancy.
Role overview- Manage and continually evolve all stages of the Venture Capital’s investment evaluation and execution process, including deal sourcing, due diligence, investment recommendations, and preparation of transaction documents and relative supporting materials (e.g. investment memorandums, cap tables, market analysis, competitive analysis etc.)
- Deal sourcing: proactively engage various ecosystem activities regionally to generate and improve deal sourcing initiatives
- Deal screening: Curate and evaluate the investment opportunity pipeline including calls and/or meetings with prospects, and conduct accurate evaluation processes
- Create, manage and review comprehensive financial models for individual start-ups as well as portfolio companies
- Financial analysis and reporting by preparing periodic and fund related reports and analyzing financial data to assist in evaluating portfolio performance
- Manage and lead the due diligence process and requirements for the priority deals as well as own and present the relative data, analysis, and investment recommendations
- Spearhead the firm’s relationship with its portfolio companies across the region and manage reporting requirements for the fund and respective LPs
- Assist portfolio companies with business development, future funding and other strategic initiatives across the region
- Represent the firm in ecosystem engagements and activities such as conferences and meet-ups
- 2-4 years’ experience in VC, PE, investment banking, consultancy or a start-up
- Strong passion for technology, entrepreneurship and the investment management industry
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized educational institution with excellent academic credentials
- Professional qualification (CFA, CPA, CIMA) are desirable but not essential
- Fluency in English and Arabic are essential
Please note: this role is based in UAE, with potential to be based in another newly launched GCC office (relocation support will be provided for overseas candidates).
