Swindon Domestic Abuse Services have an excellent opportunity for you to become a support worker, where you will be empowered an encouraged to coach our customers to reach their full potential. Your unique skills and attributes will be used to support customers on a day to day basis, allowing them to gain the tools to live a life free from abuse. Typical Day as a Support Worker Using the Outcome Star to create support plans with your customers. Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, actions and goals setting and regular reviews. Signposting and assisting customers with finances and benefits. Assisting customers to source education, training and employment opportunities. Supporting customers to successfully maintain their tenancy by monitoring rent payments and room cleanliness. You will attend multi-agency meetings. You will attend awareness raising events to promote the service. You will bring Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working collaboratively with an eye for detail. We understand that not everyone has all the experience wed like so if you have a can do positive attitude and a zest for supporting people, the rest we can teach you! Wed like experience of creating person-centred support plans and supporting colleagues to work to the plans. Youll have the ability to work using your initiative, remaining calm under pressure and have a resilient approach. If youre new to our sector, tell us about your transferrable skills. Our Team You will join a small team who do differing roles within the domestic abuse sector within both Swindon and Hereford. Job Details This role sits alongside the Domestic Abuse Floating Support Worker (full-time) and you will hold a small caseload of 4 clients. You will be required to work Monday-Friday, typically 9-5 but we are flexible. You will be based from home with weekly travel requirements to meet with service users living across our 6 dispersed properties in Swindon. You will need to be confident using technology for creating and updating support plans, collaborating with colleagues and completing online training You will need an enhanced DBS check done and Stonewater will pay for this.
