At Stonewater, we’re looking for a Head of Enterprise Architecture to define and drive our architectural strategy, ensuring our technology landscape is aligned, secure, scalable and ready for the future.
The Role
As Head of Enterprise Architecture, you will play a pivotal leadership role within our IT function, setting the strategic direction for architecture across the organisation. Working closely with IT, Transformation teams and senior stakeholders, you’ll translate business priorities into clear, deliverable architectural roadmaps that underpin long-term success. You’ll act as a key bridge between business and technology—guiding decision-making, assuring solutions and enabling innovation through modern, integrated and resilient systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Define and lead the enterprise architecture vision, principles, standards and roadmaps aligned to strategic priorities
- Provide expert oversight and assurance across technology and transformation initiatives
- Translate complex business needs into practical, future-focused architectural designs
- Establish and embed architecture governance and design authority processes
- Lead and develop a team of system owners and architects, building capability and driving continuous improvement
- Identify opportunities to enhance systems, integration and service resilience
- Conduct horizon scanning for emerging technologies and assess their business value
- Influence senior stakeholders and support key investment decisions with clear insights and recommendations
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking an experienced and strategic leader with a strong background in enterprise or solution architecture. You’ll bring:
- Proven experience shaping enterprise architecture strategy within complex environments
- Strong knowledge across business, data, application and technology architecture
- Experience delivering governance, assurance and solution design oversight
- A collaborative approach with the ability to influence at senior levels
- Strong leadership skills, with experience developing high-performing teams
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Commercial awareness and strong analytical thinking to support investment decisions
Desirable:
- Experience in social housing or a regulated sector
- Knowledge of TOGAF or similar frameworks
- Familiarity with Microsoft cloud, ERP/CRM platforms and integration technologies
- Experience supporting major transformation programmes
