Due to internal promotion, Stonewater are seeking a Health & Safety Business Partner – someone to work nationally alongside our Development, sustainability and Homes Operations teams to provide assurance regarding the safety of our contractors operations. As our Health & Safety Business Partner, you’ll play a key role in making sure our development sites and stock investment projects are delivered safely, responsibly, and in line with the very best standards. This is a role for someone who doesn’t just tick boxes but actively wants to make a difference ensuring colleagues, contractors, and residents feel safe and supported. Providing competent advice regarding the planning, monitoring and delivery of construction activity across development sites and where work is being undertaken to occupied buildings, you’ll undertake site safety inspections and Client H&S audits to provide assurance that safety standards are being met. You’ll complete thematic and system audits across the Development and Homes directorates to provide assurance that all colleagues are working in accordance with the Groups Health & Safety management system, and support managers and project teams to complete incident and accident investigations, taking a lead on the investigation of RIDDOR events and high potential loss events. You will be the subject matter expert for Construction (Design & Management) Regulations, ensuring that we fulfil our statutory duty as a Client. The ideal candidate will: * Be a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (CMIOSH). (Graduate membership, working towards full chartered status will be considered for those who can demonstrate experience in a similar role). * Hold a NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction. * Hold an ISO 45001 Internal Auditor certificate. * Have demonstrable experience of working within a social housing organisation (or similar). * Be able to demonstrate detailed knowledge regarding Health & Safety statutory instruments, British Standards, and sector guidance relating to construction works. * Have experience of managing and/or working within an ISO 45001 certified management system. * Have experience of carrying out site inspections and audits to identify non-conformance and opportunities for improvement. * Be able to communicate effectively at all levels and produce coherent, written documentation. * Be a people person with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with colleagues and key internal and external stakeholders. * A demonstrable understanding of construction contact forms and procurement models.
