Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
Pay Rate: £16.00 per hour
Hours: Monday – Thursday (4-Day Week) | 07:00 – 16:45
Fridays: Available as overtime
Stonetech are working with a well-established welding and fabrication contractor based in Bury St Edmunds. They support a wide range of customers across industries including construction, government, MOD, food and agriculture, delivering bespoke, varied fabrication projects.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit an experienced MIG Welder / Fabricator to join their workshop team.
The Role
This is a hands-on, workshop-based position and will involve:

Predominantly MIG welding
*
Reading and working from technical/engineering drawings
*
Fabricating independently to specification
*
Working with mild steel and stainless steel
*
Welding on materials ranging from 5mm – 20mm thickness
Ideally, you will also have experience operating manual fabrication equipment such as:

Brake press
*
Punch press
*
Guillotine
*
Other fabrication machinery
Candidate Requirements
To be considered, you should:
*
Be confident MIG welding and fabricating from drawings
*
Have experience working with a variety of materials and dimensions
*
Work well as part of a team and contribute to a positive workshop environment
*
Be flexible to support overtime during busy periods, including potential weekend work
Junior xiskglj / trainee welders are also encouraged to apply, especially those who have recently completed a welding course or apprenticeship and are looking for their first role within engineering.
