Production Planner
Location: Eye, Suffolk
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Production Planner to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Eye. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner or someone looking to develop their planning career within a busy and fast-paced production environment.
Working closely with the Senior Production Planner and wider operational teams, you will play a key role in ensuring production schedules are maintained efficiently, materials are available when required, and customer demands are met on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, maintain and monitor production schedules to ensure efficient workflow across the manufacturing operation.
- Utilise the company's ERP system to manage production plans, maintain stock accuracy, and ensure all data remains up to date.
- Plan, schedule, release and progress work orders through the production process.
- Liaise with production, purchasing, stores and other departments to ensure smooth operational performance.
- Identify potential bottlenecks, delays or shortages and proactively implement solutions.
- Monitor production progress and communicate any issues that may impact delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate planning records and system data.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the planning and production functions.
- Deliver excellent service and communication to both internal and external stakeholders.
About You
- Previous experience in a Production Planner, Materials Planner, Supply Chain Planner or similar role.
- Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong ERP/MRP system experience.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
- Good IT and administrative skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
