Our client, a well-established family-run engineering manufacturer based on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds, is looking to recruit an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

Duties will include
- MIG welding and fabricating a range of steel components and assemblies.
- Working with materials ranging from 1.5mm sheet metal through to heavy gauge box section and plate.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to produce accurate fabrications.
- Producing high-quality welds in line with company quality standards.
- Using a variety of fabrication tools and workshop equipment.
- Working closely with the production team to achieve daily and weekly manufacturing targets.
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure all finished work meets specification.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Following all Health & Safety procedures and company policies.
The ideal candidate will have
- Previous MIG welding and fabrication experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- The ability to produce clean, consistent welds on materials ranging from 1.5mm to 20mm.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Good fabrication skills and the ability to work accurately with minimal supervision.
- A strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
- A positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- TIG welding experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
