We’re working with a well-established specialist engineering business delivering complex construction and building services projects across London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Manager who enjoys a practical, hands-on role with genuine autonomy and the chance to make a visible impact.

This is not a heavily corporate, policy-writing position. Instead, we’re looking for someone who can work closely with project teams, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure health & safety standards are embedded across live project environments.

The Role

As the Health & Safety Manager, you’ll play a key role supporting multiple live construction and engineering projects, acting as the trusted H&S lead across site operations. Responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting regular site inspections and audits
  • Supporting project teams with RAMS reviews and compliance
  • Attending client pre-start, progress, and coordination meetings
  • Ensuring CDM compliance and contractor adherence
  • Investigating incidents, near misses, and implementing corrective actions
  • Delivering toolbox talks and practical H&S guidance onsite
  • Supporting project documentation and compliance requirements
  • Working closely with operational leaders to drive continuous improvement

This is a highly autonomous role where your expertise and judgement will be trusted.

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from candidates with:

  • Proven Health & Safety experience within M&E
  • NEBOSH qualification (General or Construction)
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Strong knowledge of CDM regulations
  • Experience supporting live site operations and contractor management

Highly desirable backgrounds include:

  • M&E / building services
  • HVAC
  • Fit-out / hard FM project delivery
  • Engineering project environments

The Opportunity

Working Pattern: Predominantly site-based across London projects, typically 3–4 days onsite, 1–2 days office/admin support, occasional travel outside London.

Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing, specialist business where health & safety is genuinely valued operationally not treated as a box-ticking exercise. If you’re someone who enjoys being visible onsite, influencing teams positively, and making a real difference across live projects, we’d love to speak with you.
