We’re working with a well-established specialist engineering business delivering complex construction and building services projects across London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Manager who enjoys a practical, hands-on role with genuine autonomy and the chance to make a visible impact.
This is not a heavily corporate, policy-writing position. Instead, we’re looking for someone who can work closely with project teams, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure health & safety standards are embedded across live project environments.
The Role
As the Health & Safety Manager, you’ll play a key role supporting multiple live construction and engineering projects, acting as the trusted H&S lead across site operations. Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting regular site inspections and audits
- Supporting project teams with RAMS reviews and compliance
- Attending client pre-start, progress, and coordination meetings
- Ensuring CDM compliance and contractor adherence
- Investigating incidents, near misses, and implementing corrective actions
- Delivering toolbox talks and practical H&S guidance onsite
- Supporting project documentation and compliance requirements
- Working closely with operational leaders to drive continuous improvement
This is a highly autonomous role where your expertise and judgement will be trusted.
What We’re Looking For
We’d love to hear from candidates with:
- Proven Health & Safety experience within M&E
- NEBOSH qualification (General or Construction)
- Valid CSCS card
- Strong knowledge of CDM regulations
- Experience supporting live site operations and contractor management
Highly desirable backgrounds include:
- M&E / building services
- HVAC
- Fit-out / hard FM project delivery
- Engineering project environments
The Opportunity
Working Pattern
Predominantly site-based across London projects. Typically, 3–4 days onsite, 1–2 days office/admin support, occasional travel outside London.
