Stonehouse Recruitment is currently working with a South London Local Authority seeking an experienced Noise Nuisance Officer to provide interim support within their Environmental Health team. This role will focus on responding to noise complaints and investigating statutory nuisance cases in line with Environmental Protection legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate noise nuisance complaints
  • Respond to reactive and complex cases
  • Assess whether noise constitutes a statutory nuisance
  • Serve abatement notices where required
  • Maintain accurate case records and evidence
  • Work closely with Environmental Health colleagues and other departments

Requirements

  • Previous experience working within a local authority Environmental Health team
  • Experience investigating noise nuisance complaints
  • Good knowledge of Environmental Protection Act legislation
  • Ability to manage and progress enforcement cases
  • Strong communication and investigative skills
