We’re currently looking for an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to join a busy Local Authority enforcement team in North London on an initial 3-month rolling contract , with the potential for ongoing work.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced housing enforcement professional looking for a hands-on role focused on inspections, housing standards and enforcement .
Key Responsibilities

Undertake Private Sector Housing inspections and investigations .

Manage cases involving disrepair, housing standards and residential licensing .

Prepare and serve statutory notices and take appropriate enforcement action.

Prepare enforcement cases and provide evidence for court proceedings where required.

Provide technical and legal advice to residents, landlords and stakeholders.

Manage complex cases and work closely with internal and external partners.
What we’re looking for

Strong experience in Private Sector Housing enforcement .

Good knowledge of housing legislation, HHSRS and residential licensing .

Experience carrying out inspections and taking enforcement action.

Strong communication and case management skills.

Ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload.

Full driving licence and ability to travel for site visits.
Experience with prosecutions, court proceedings, complex enforcement cases or lead officer responsibilities would be highly advantageous.
