The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 Β£ per year.

We are currently partnering with a Local Authority in Devon to recruit a Housing Development Officer on a 6-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy Housing Enabling and Development team delivering a range of affordable housing, temporary accommodation and acquisition projects across the district.

The Role

  • Lead the project management and client oversight of affordable housing development schemes, ensuring delivery to agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards.
  • Support the delivery of key projects including a 23-unit Passivhaus Plus social housing scheme, temporary accommodation conversion projects and a growing stock acquisition programme.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, elected Members, contractors, consultants, Homes England, Registered Providers and other key stakeholders.
  • Maintain clear project records and provide effective stakeholder and community engagement throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience delivering affordable housing development projects, ideally within a Local Authority setting.
  • Strong project management skills with experience overseeing development schemes from inception through delivery.
  • Experience working with housing associations, developers, contractors, Homes England and other external partners.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship management skills.
  • Knowledge of residential development, construction and affordable housing delivery.

Working Arrangements

  • 6-month contract
  • Up to 4 days per week
  • Inside IR35
  • Predominantly remote working, with attendance required at offices in the area and site visits as required.
