The purpose of the Investment Analyst role is to support in key aspects relating to multi-asset portfolio management, investment strategy and fund research. Reporting to the Head of Multi-Asset Portfolio Solutions, the role will be integral in the day-to-day implementation of investment processes and delivery of investment strategy outcomes. Offering broad exposure to investment research, strategy and portfolio management, the role represents a strong opportunity to further a career in the investment management industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly with Portfolio Manager and other investment team members in idea generation, portfolio construction and implementation.
  • Monitor market and macro developments, participating in discussions on implications for portfolio strategy.
  • Deliver high quality and timely collateral, including multi-asset fund reporting, monthly commentaries and presentation slides, supporting Client Management Team to articulate market drivers, strategy and performance.
  • Prepare high quality materials for Investment Committee meetings and other internal forums as required.
  • Gain a strong understanding of third-party active managers and strategies, offering opinion and critique.
  • Assist in the portfolio management of multi-asset funds, monitoring cash flow and positioning on a daily basis, instructing trades where appropriate.
  • Work closely with colleagues in Risk and Performance, Operations and Client Management, building strong working relationships and delivering required tasks as part of ongoing projects.
  • Adhere to Investment Management and Group Compliance policies and procedures, undertaking appropriate regulatory training and dealing with potential breaches of compliance policies without delay.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Educated to degree level.
  • 1-2 years experience in wealth management or asset management role preferred but not essential.

  • Advanced skills in Excel.
  • Immediate to advanced level in all other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
