Overall Purpose
In order to support group’s management decisions, this role focuses on the design, development and maintenance of meaningful Management Information and the implementation of systems for this purpose.
Key Responsibilities
- Model Development: Design, build and enhance complex Anaplan models for budgeting, forecasting, reporting and other financial processes.
- Data integration: Oversee and contribute to data integration and automation efforts between Anaplan and other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, Data Warehouse such as Snowflake, Dayforce).
- Performance Optimization: Maintain model health, optimise performance, and streamline administrative tasks.
- Work with the Group Head of Finance systems to support the development and maintenance of the Group’s strategy.
- User Experience: Build Anaplan models including data models and dashboards, maintain model health and optimise performance.
- Responsible for the overall Anaplan application production environment, development of new models, implementation, maintenance and enhancements to existing models, all of which are designed and integrated in an optimal manner.
- Collaborate with the rest of the Finance systems team to take on board their understanding of the systems that support the Financial Accounting and Control environment and how this will impact the configuration of the systems that support our MI reporting and distribution environment.
- Build relationships with Financial Business Partners, Group Head of FP&A, the Head of Commercial Finance, and members of the Financial Control team to translate user needs into technical solutions and maintain solutions in order to ensure their needs are met timeously.
- Work closely with the Business Systems and BI development team in IT in the development and maintenance of our reporting tools (primarily the Anaplan, Power BI and other related applications), and to develop efficient solutions for the distribution to stakeholders.
- Stay Current: Build knowledge of the business and reporting tools, whilst also leverage the experience and understanding of members of the team to ensure we are always at the forefront of technological advances and best practices with regards to the systems that support our business.
- Drive adoption and continuous improvement of Anaplan use cases across the business (e.g., FP&A, planning and other financial processes such as Financial Control consolidations).
- Own the end-to-end Anaplan development lifecycle, translating requirements to scalable Anaplan model design, build, testing, deployment, and support.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of the reporting that is being developed and help to design controls to guard against inaccurate reporting.
- Provide Analyst (that may train others) and End-user support and training, acting as a subject matter expert (SME) for Anaplan across the business.
- Stay up to date with the Anaplan features and enhancements and proactively identify opportunities to leverage them to improve performance reporting, analytics and planning processes.
- Develop documentation for delivered solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
- A bachelor’s degree or relevant certifications and experience as an equivalent.
- +3 years’ experience in an EPM environment.
- Implementation of and use of Anaplan (or equivalent) at a senior model builder level.
- Experience in financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting would be advantageous.
- Production of Management information for use by the CFO and business.
- Power BI (or equivalent) development is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Anaplan development, certified Level Builder 3 or Solution Architect preferred.
Skills, Competencies & Behaviors
- Strong understanding of application development processes and experience in leading application design and configuration.
- Passion and ability to create holistic, end-to-end, integrated solutions.
- SQL query scripting skilled.
- MDX / DAX and/or “Data Wrangling” (R / SAS) or Python would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- A background in multi-dimensional modelling.
- High degree of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion.
- Ability to deal with third parties in a professional and confidential manner.
- Schedules and manages workload effectively, thinks ahead, sets plans to achieve goals.
- Supports and works towards team goals, shares information.
