- What you’ll be doing
- Own the shift. Take full accountability for production performance, quality, food safety and operational excellence, ensuring all KPIs are consistently achieved.
- Drive factory performance by maximising OEE, improving yields, reducing waste and identifying efficiencies across the operation.
- Lead from the front. Motivate, coach and develop production teams through a strong management‑by‑walkabout approach, maintaining a visible presence on the factory floor.
- Deliver results through collaboration, working closely with Team Leaders, Engineering, Planning and wider business functions to achieve production targets.
- Develop a highly capable workforce, ensuring all colleagues are trained, competent and operating in line with SOPs and best practices.
- Champion a culture of food safety, quality and health & safety, setting high standards and driving continuous improvement throughout the operation.
- Maintain audit‑ready standards at all times, embedding a strong compliance culture and a proactive Clean‑As‑You‑Go mentality

- Previous experience within a high‑care food manufacturing environment is essential.
- Demonstrable success in a Production Manager, Shift Manager or similar operational leadership role, with responsibility for people, performance and production delivery.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, labour management and performance analysis, with the ability to use data to drive operational improvements.
- Sound knowledge of food safety, HACCP, quality systems, health & safety legislation and audit requirements, ensuring compliance and standards are maintained at all times.
- Able to thrive in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment where priorities can change and operational excellence is expected every day.
- Lean Manufacturing qualification (Green Belt or Black Belt) would be advantageous, alongside experience of leading continuous improvement initiatives.
