Stonegate Farmers are currently hiring for a Head of Projects & Engineering to join our facility based in Lacock, Wiltshire. Reporting into our CEO, you will oversee both our Egg Innovation and Packing Centre engineering operations whilst playing a crucial role in all project work as part of our continued expansion. You will be able to pre-empt issues, guide/govern with best practice in both project and maintenance delivery while building a culture of safety, ensuring all statutory compliance requirements are followed.

We deliver daily from hen houses right across the country to the most exclusive restaurants and to many of the UK’s leading supermarkets, together with first class egg products to some of the biggest names in food manufacturing.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Driving co-ordination between EIC and PC engineering teams, fostering a constructive and collaborative working environment.
- Ownership and development of engineering talent, ensuring teams have the tools and training they need to progress and deliver.
- Ownership and development of technology innovations, driving analysis of market innovation around new technologies and potential crossovers.
- Development of an Asset Management Plan and associated budgets for the mid and long term, taking into account the total cost of ownership across the entire lifecycle of the assets.
- Foster a ‘one-team’ mindset by integrating the engineering function with manufacturing / production operations.
- In collaboration with the site management team, optimise and improve the plant’s productive capabilities to meet business demands, including the provision and efficient use of utilities (gas, water, electricity, compressed air), while ensuring compliance with environmental legislation.
- Apply financial rigour to all engineering activities, ensuring value for money and ROI.
- Co-ordinate and implement project scope, involving all relevant stakeholders, internal resources and external suppliers/contractors.
- Work with the Site Leadership Team to implement, record and audit safety and statutory compliance programmes to provide a safe working environment for all staff.
- Maintain a long term focus by working with Site Management, Finance to plan for future growth, upgrades and new equipment roll outs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications / Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within a similar position within a Food / FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred, or HND, BTEC Professional Level 5.
- BRC or equivalent audit experience.
- Knowledge of M&S audit standards.
- Experience of modern manufacturing practice is essential and knowledge of food processing and associated equipment would be desirable.
- Knowledge of condition monitoring techniques and how this can support a reduction in maintenance (associated qualifications advantageous).
