Purpose of the Role:
This is a role for an experienced finance professional to business partner the senior leadership team of the Managed Operation of Stonegate Pub Company, supporting with data and analysis that aids decision making. The role reports to the Senior Finance Manager – Managed and will be a key figure within this trading segment.
You will act as a key liaison between the finance department and other departments within the company, ensuring effective communication and collaboration whilst setting the key financial expectations of the division. Your expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering will be crucial in driving the financial success of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Partnering: – Act as a trusted advisor to the Operations Directors, providing financial expertise and guidance whilst identifying business opportunities and presenting recommendations to stakeholders.
- Financial Analysis: To set the agenda and expectations for financial analysis, including variance analysis, profitability analysis, and financial performance evaluation across the division. Provide insights, recommendations and appropriate levels of challenge based on sound financial analysis to support decision-making processes. Continually review and improve as required.
- Financial Planning and Strategy: – Review financial modelling and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making. – Evaluate the financial impact of new initiatives, projects, and investments whilst tracking the benefits case of existing initiatives across the group remain on track to deliver the required returns.
- Influential role in the annual budget process and monthly reforecast for operations, leading on key P&L lines and ensuring appropriate levels of challenge and review are upheld whilst working closely with the commercial planning team to incorporate the commercial strategic agenda within all assumptions and outputs.
- Track performance in detail vs budget/forecast and proving the operations team on variance analysis and AM/site performance. This should be across all of the P&L but with a focus on sales, labour and controllable costs.
- Financial Reporting: – To drive the new financial reporting suite of the division, partnering cross functionally with operations and BI team to create a best in class, self-serve, suite of reports that streamlines and drives efficiencies across all departments. Provide support and guidance on initiatives with the group FP&A team ensuring these projects are being tracked effectively and translated into operational targets and improvements as appropriate.
- Relationship Management: – Build strong relationships with stakeholders across different departments within company, particularly the commercial planning team. – Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial information exchange. – Represent the finance department in meetings, presentations, and discussions with senior management.
- Supporting the Senior Finance Manager with strategic analysis and business partnering to the MD of Managed Operations; creating the opportunity to be involved in projects & initiatives that drive growth for the whole business.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field or a professional accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA) would be advantageous.
- Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner or a similar role in the hospitality or food and beverage industry with experience in FP&A or commercial finance is desirable.
- Strong financial analysis and reporting skills, with a solid understanding of financial metrics.
- Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
- Analytical mindset, with attention to detail and the ability to work with complex financial data.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple stakeholders, priorities and meeting deadlines.

The Solihull Pub Support Team offices are light and airy offices in Shirley, Solihull, where you will be greeted by our Welcome Team. We have free onsite secure parking with EV charging and cycle storage, a subsidised canteen serving breakfast and lunch, as well as an onsite pub used for social events. The offices are fully accessible.
