The Opportunity
We're looking for a skilled Kitchen Manager or Kitchen Team Leader who is ready to take the next step in their career. In this leadership role, you'll play a key part in shaping our kitchen operations, maintaining high standards, supporting and developing the kitchen team at George Staples.
As Kitchen Manager you will:
- The ability to support, coach, and mentor your team at George Staples.

- An up-to-date COSHH, Food Safety, H&S, legal knowledge.
Some of the things you’ll be doing as a Kitchen Manager:
- Hiring and onboarding of new team members in an inclusive and welcoming manner.
- Leading, guiding, and developing your kitchen team, ensuring they have access to ongoing training and growth opportunities.
- Maintaining high standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety, creating a safe and organised workspace for all.
- Managing the kitchen schedule to ensure efficient staffing while meeting labour targets.
- Conducting regular stock checks to ensure cost management and meet performance goals.
- Taking a proactive approach to increasing sales and driving growth by fostering strong relationships between kitchen and front-of-house teams.
Each pub has its own story, character, and loyal locals, but they all share the same welcoming spirit. Whether it’s top‑night sports screenings, quiz nights, or DJs keeping the party going, there’s always something happening. At most of our pubs, you’ll find proper pub grub – with big, juicy burgers and classic fish and chips being firm favourites. And when it comes to pouring a cracking pint, we’ve got it nailed. We serve up real value, a great atmosphere, and a pub experience that’s worth every penny.
We are the largest pub in Blackfen. We have a diverse clientele throughout the week and lend ourselves to a younger guest on the weekends because of our large late-night offering. We show all kinds of sports on our thirteen screens as well as host weekly quizzes, karaoke, bingo, and club nights. This, along with our great range of ales and beers, makes us the place to be. Our food offering is great quality pub grub with daily and weekend deals. We are located on the main bus route into Bexleyheath and Greenwich, so transport is great day and night.
