The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Regional Manager, covering the Essex region between Basildon and Ipswich. You will support a number of publicans and their businesses within the Core L&T Division. The key objectives of this role are to produce and implement a strategic plan for your region, aimed at increasing ‘whole pub profit’ for each pub, benefiting publican profitability and regional like-for-like income.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Recruitment and development of quality, well-funded publicans.
- Active property condition enforcement across leased and tenanted pubs to maintain high standards, supporting quality retailing and protecting asset values.
- Improvement of retail standards through business advice, category management, publican skills development, and quality business review meetings.
- Providing quality, SMART meeting minutes for each business review, issued timely and in compliance with the Pubs Code.
- Ensuring adherence to the legal and behavioural requirements of the Pubs Code, treating publicans respectfully and fairly.
- Regular reviews of each publican’s business plan and Profit & Loss account, identifying remedial actions and developing joint action plans.
- Challenging but respectful engagement with publicans to exploit commercial opportunities.
- Effective liaison with Pub Support Centre functions and key suppliers to meet procurement objectives.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Multi-Unit Leader delivering results.
- Must be able to drive and be willing to undertake overnight stays.
- Strong leadership qualities, aligning with company values.
- Pro-active, self-starter, with excellent guest focus and integrity.
- Highly organized with good time management skills.
- Ability to influence and engage publicans, with strong relationship management skills.
- Analytical decision-making capabilities.
- Adaptability to change, with effective communication and negotiation skills.
