Stonecroft Care Group is opening its first children’s residential home in Derby, offering a unique opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager to help build a brand‑new service from the ground up. As a growing organisation with additional homes already confirmed in the pipeline, we are looking for a leader who can shape the home’s culture, develop the team, and embed high‑quality, therapeutic practice from day one. You will have the autonomy to influence how the service operates and play a key role in establishing a model of excellence for the group.
Key Responsibilities
- Register with Ofsted and lead the home in line with regulations and quality standards
- Provide strong, child‑centred leadership and develop a high‑performing staff team
- Oversee safeguarding, care planning, risk management, and behaviour support
- Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections
- Manage rotas, budgets, and operational systems
- Maintain placement stability and ensure sustainable occupancy through positive relationships with local authorities
- Build effective partnerships with social workers, health professionals, and external agencies
- Promote reflective practice, continuous improvement, and positive outcomes for children
With two additional homes confirmed, Stonecroft Care Group offers clear career development, including:

Experience Required
- Experience as a Registered Manager in residential childcare
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, regulations, and Ofsted frameworks
- Proven leadership and team‑development skills
- Experience managing budgets, rotas, and operational processes
- Ability to build strong professional relationships
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience opening a new home
- Achieving Outstanding Ofsted outcomes
- Experience supporting children with complex needs or trauma
