Working hours are Thursday - Monday, 08:00 - 16:00. Please note no previous experience in a laboratory is required, full training is provided. We are keen to speak with people who are used to working in a fast-paced environment and have a willingness to learn new skills. As a Laboratory Technician you will perform routine tasks in the water testing laboratory. These tasks will support with the preparation, analysis & recording of samples.

  • Preparation and analysis of samples utilising good laboratory practice.
  • Ensure samples received are handled in accordance with documented procedures, including attention to temperature control, storage and maintenance of sample integrity.
  • Maintenance of accurate and system records as detailed in the quality procedures.
  • Work with Team Leader, Laboratory Manager to achieve daily targets, ensuring client turnaround time is met.
  • Report any anomalies or concerns direct to your line leader.
  • Ensure client contact is conducted in a professional manner and any client queries are dealt with or notified to your line leader.
  • Maintain a clean working environment.
  • Maintenance of laboratory fittings and equipment as directed.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post as required.

Qualifications:

  • Hold Math, English, Chemistry or Biology at GCSE grade C or above or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Have experience of good laboratory skills and practices.
  • Hold enthusiasm, energy and a driven outlook.
