As a specialist recruiter in the restructuring and insolvency market, I am currently partnering with a leading advisory firm to appoint an Associate Director within their Financial Restructuring team in Manchester. The role is to be part of a brand new advisory offering in a traditional insolvency firm, meaning the work will purely be advisory. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to step into a senior leadership role, working on complex, high-profile engagements across a diverse client base.
The Opportunity
You will play a key role in delivering restructuring solutions to corporates, lenders, and stakeholders. This position offers a blend of advisory and formal insolvency work, with significant exposure to strategic decision-making and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage restructuring and insolvency assignments from inception through to completion
- Advise stakeholders on financial restructuring options, including contingency planning and formal insolvency processes
- Oversee financial analysis, cash flow forecasting, and independent business reviews
- Manage and develop junior team members, providing coaching and technical guidance
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, lenders, lawyers, and other key stakeholders
- Support business development initiatives and contribute to winning new work
Requirements
- Extensive experience within financial restructuring and/or insolvency
- Proven track record of managing complex cases and client relationships
- Strong technical knowledge of insolvency processes and restructuring strategies
- Recognised professional qualification (e.g. ACA/ACCA or equivalent), with JIEB desirable
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Commercial mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
