We are excited to be recruiting for a Motor Vehicle Quality Checker. This is an unrivalled opportunity to join one of the UK's fastest growing motor groups.
As a Motor Vehicle Quality Checker, you will be responsible for ensuring all vehicle repairs and servicing are completed to the highest standard before handover to the customer. This role is critical in improving overall workshop quality, reducing repeat repairs, and supporting continuous improvement through technician coaching and quality monitoring.
Representing a variety of manufacturers and handling a diverse range of vehicles and models, you will take great pride in your work, helping us to deliver exceptional customer experiences and setting an unrivalled standard for the industry, all whilst contributing towards making Stoneacre the Number One Motor Group.

An average day as a Motor Vehicle Quality Checker includes:
- Conducting final quality checks on all completed vehicles prior to customer handover
- Verifying all work has been completed in line with manufacturer standards, dealership process, and job card instructions
- Ensuring vehicles are clean, safe and fully operational before release
- Confirming that all faults raised have been correctly diagnosed and rectified
- Identifying and addressing defects or incomplete work before the vehicle leaves site
- Taking ownership of “return to workshop” cases
- Investigating repeat repairs and working with the workshop team to resolve root causes
- Providing constructive feedback to technicians on workmanship and quality standards
- Supporting the development of technicians through on-the-job coaching and guidance
- Working closely with the Workshop Controller to address performance or quality concerns
- Maintaining accurate records of quality inspections carried out
- Logging defects, trends, and repeat issues to identify patterns within the workshop
- Producing regular feedback to the Service Manager on quality performance
- Ensuring all repairs meet manufacturer, warranty and safety standards
- Supporting compliance with MOT and roadworthiness requirements
- Promoting a culture of “right first time” across the workshop
About you:
- Proven experience as a vehicle technician within a main dealer or independent workshop
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to challenge and influence technicians in a constructive manner
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organisational and record-keeping ability
You will thrive working in a challenging yet rewarding environment with the ability to work well under pressure. You will be consumer and market focused. You will be business and commercially driven with demonstrable expertise in the automotive sector.
Hold a current and valid MOT tester licence and a full UK driving licence.
