The Vacancy
Do you want to start your apprenticeship with an Ofsted graded ‘Outstanding’ Academy? This is an exciting role with first-class training and outstanding long term career prospects.
Stoneacre Academy has been graded Outstanding by Ofsted and your training is carried out in our state-of-the-art Technical Training Centres. The comprehensive training programme provides you with hands on experience while we develop your knowledge and skills to help you achieve the industry recognised qualifications - Autocare level 2, FGas Refrigerant Handling level 3 and an Electric Vehicle qualification.
At Stoneacre Motor Group you get paid and receive direct experience. Developing your knowledge and skills to progress along your career path, where you can achieve the Light Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician level 3.
Job Purpose
To assist in the repairs, routine maintenance, and service of vehicles to a consistently high standard.
To attend all relevant training and academy courses as required.

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills who is enthusiastic about the motor industry. A forward-thinking individual and keen to learn new skills and knowledge thriving to develop, progress and work hard to become a Vehicle and EV technician within Stoneacre.
You must have a ‘can-do’ attitude, polite and courteous. Be able to develop productive and cooperative relationships with customers and colleagues, using rapport building techniques, empathy, and effective interpersonal skills. Approaches sensitive situations with consideration for others and works to achieve constructive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, carry out work on vehicles in accordance with the manufacture’s procedures.
- Ensure all work carried out is completed accurately and to the customer’s satisfaction.
- To report, using the correct procedures, any additional work found during repair/inspection.
- Accurately complete job cards and reports, including any written descriptions of faults found or repairs completed.
- To comply with the company\'s working practices and procedures. Ensure all work is carried out observing safe working practices of self and others.
- To undertake training as agreed by the manager / academy. Attend academy as required to gain the relevant qualifications.
- Ensure that own tools and tools of the company are kept clean and are maintained in a serviceable condition.
- Advise the Service Advisors – Customers about required repairs.
- Identify & procure correct parts to meet specific customer requirements.
- Demonstrate technical expertise in the practical and theoretical aspects of vehicle systems.
- Work towards achieving a qualification in Electric Vehicle and then progress onto further Electric Vehicle Training.
- Demonstrates and maintains an appropriate level of technical expertise for a technician in the motor industry. Inspects vehicles and completes allocated work efficiently and accurately, supported by the effective use of relevant tools and technology.
- Aligned to the Stoneacre brand values and demonstrates these in their behaviours and approach to people and tasks. Displays honesty and integrity in everything they do.
- Inspection, removal and repair of tyres, exhausts, shock absorbers, brakes, filters, and batteries.
- Delivering a high level of customer service to all your colleagues and customers
Entry requirements
- GCSE A-C or 9-4 in Maths and English or equivalent. Predicted grades.
- Length of provision 27 months apprentice programme

97% of our apprentices have progressed onto full time employment. 36% of our apprentices are now in senior roles and management positions. We will provide full uniform and PPE. Further progression within the group is available with our strong Continuous training programmes in place.
