We are looking for a capable, pace-confident Chef / Supervisor to join Lizzie's, a well-run café with a busy daytime service and a growing evening lounge bar and catering offer. We expect this to be a full-time role (37 hours), but we are open to discussing part-time arrangements for the right candidate.
You will be working in a structured, organised kitchen with clear systems and a strong team, but service is fast-paced at peak times, so confidence, consistency, and good judgement are essential.
The Role- Daytime café service including brunch, lunch, burgers, and pizzas.
- Small plates service for Friday/Saturday evening lounge.
- Involvement in corporate catering preparation and fulfilment.
- Maintaining standards, timing, and smooth service under pressure.
- Supporting junior staff and contributing to a well-run kitchen.
- Salaried, council-backed position with long-term stability.
- Up to 37 hours per week (below typical kitchen hours).
- Structured 4-week rota, planned in advance (includes at least one full weekend off per cycle).
- Limited late evenings (Fri/Sat only).
- A well-managed kitchen with clear expectations - no constant firefighting.
- A chef who is comfortable working at pace during busy service.
- Confident running a section across grill, assembly, and small plates.
