The opportunity
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor to join Stone King's International Trusts and Estates team, advising private clients, charities and other solicitors. The successful candidate will relish the opportunity to become a specialist within a team that focuses exclusively on cross-border work and is able to advise on the private international law (conflicts of law) of almost every jurisdiction of the world.

Key responsibilities
- Attending clients of the firm in the office (or if appropriate elsewhere).
- Dealing with clients referred to you in person and on the telephone.
- Ensuring that all client work is progressed expeditiously and that the client is kept regularly informed on progress and on costs.
- At all times exercising high standards of client care in a professional and pleasant manner.
- Carrying out your work for the client to the highest possible standard, having regard to the firm's standards & procedures.
- Working as part of a team with the other members of the team or other members of the firm where necessary.
- Maintaining clear and precise communications with other colleagues.
- Attending and being involved in preparation for team meetings.
- Dealing with communications promptly.
- Ensuring good working relationships with external institutions and organisations.
- Being active in promoting the services of the firm and its core values and ethos; to attend and be involved in preparation for marketing events.
- Ensuring the confidentiality and security of all the firm's and client's documentation and information.
- Achieving agreed levels of billing and be diligent with time recording.
- Complying with the solicitor's accounts rules and the rules on the professional conduct of solicitors.
Requirements
Essential- A Solicitor experienced in Trusts and Estates and some experience dealing with cross border matters although training will be provided.
- Experience of running their own caseload of matters.
- Strong communication and attention to detail skills.
- Candidates should be well-organised and technically proficient.
- Experience dealing with international / cross border Trusts and Estates.
- STEP qualified.
- Previous experience of pro-active business development and marketing; ability to demonstrate identification of new revenue streams and be able to promote the firm and cross-sell other specialisms internally and externally.
