The Opportunity

We have a unique opportunity for a Solicitor to join our nationally renowned and highly regarded Charity & Social Enterprise team, based in our London office. This role offers a hybrid working environment, with at least two days in the office per week. The successful candidate will be involved in all areas of law and practice relating to charities and social enterprise.

Current Caseload

  • Charity governance
  • Restructuring, mergers and other transfers of businesses and assets
  • Funding initiatives
  • Formation of new charities and other social enterprise vehicles, including those at the forefront of legal and social developments
  • Charity governing documents including Charity Commission schemes and orders
  • Trading structures
  • Commercial partnerships and other contracting arrangements
  • Charity Commission Inquiries and other Charity Commission monitoring and investigation including assisting with Interim Manager work
  • Charity disputes and litigation, including the Charity Tribunal, working with our Dispute Resolution team

  • Effectively manage an individual caseload with appropriate supervision.

Requirements

Essential
  • Qualified Solicitor with solid experience in drafting, legal research, file management and client relationship building.
  • Real interest in the Charity sector.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, internal and external.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and desire to deepen legal knowledge.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong IT skills.
Desirable
  • Experience in the Charity sector.
