We are looking to recruit a Senior HR Consultant to join our growing HR Consultancy team, with a focus on supporting clients across the education sector. This is a key role within the team, offering the opportunity to deliver high‑quality, pragmatic HR advisory service in a friendly and collaborative team. You will be using your knowledge and skills to deliver excellent outcomes for our clients. We are interested in developing people and allowing them the flexibility they need to excel in a role. You will partner with a diverse client base including schools, academies and other organisations, providing commercially aware, solutions‑focused advice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering pragmatic HR advice to clients on a broad range of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, capability and organisational change.
  • Designing and delivering training and workshops for managers and leadership teams.
  • Leading and managing complex casework, including investigations, hearings and formal processes.
  • Monitoring and reporting on activities and providing relevant management information (including time recording appropriately).
  • Building and maintaining effective client relationships, acting as a trusted and credible adviser.
  • Producing clear, practical and legally aligned HR documentation and guidance.
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues across the Employment and HR teams to deliver a seamless, high‑quality service.
  • Supporting business development activity with the firm’s clients, especially education clients such as academies and schools.
  • Contributing to the development of the Firm’s range of human resource services and assisting the employment law team to expand their services, e.g. providing bespoke HR services to clients under Retainer arrangements.

Essential

  • Strong experience providing HR advice across a broad range of employee relations and generalist HR matters in a consultancy, advisory, professional services or in‑house HR environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of employment relations, especially case work on disciplinary, grievances, capability, absence management and restructures.
  • Experience managing a varied workload and prioritising effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear, practical advice.

Desirable

  • Experience working within or alongside the education sector (e.g. schools, academies, public regulated organisations).
  • Experience contributing to business development or service growth activities.
