The opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity to join Stone King's highly regarded Family team, with the flexibility to be based in any of our national offices. Our Family team is recognised in Chambers and Legal 500 for its strength across family law, financial remedy and children matters, and for delivering an exceptional, values-led client service. You will work on a high-quality caseload including divorce and financial remedy cases involving complex asset structures, business interests, pensions and trusts, alongside privately funded children work such as living arrangements and specific issue applications. You will be part of a collaborative and purpose-led team that combines legal expertise with a genuine commitment to making a positive impact. Key Responsibilities
- Effectively manage your own caseload of family matters with appropriate supervision and support, including financial remedy cases and privately funded children work such as living arrangements and specific issue applications.
- Attending to clients of the firm in person and remotely, providing clear, practical advice with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Drafting court documents, financial disclosure, statements and legal research in line with the Family Procedure Rules and best practice.
- Supporting business development and contributing to marketing activities to build client relationships and promote the Family team's expertise.
- Communicating promptly and effectively with colleagues, clients and external professionals including counsel and experts.
- Attending and contributing to team meetings and matter strategy discussions.
- Carrying out work to the highest standard in line with the firm's procedures, technical expectations and core values.
- Working in a collegiate and collaborative way within the immediate team and across the wider firm.
- Maintaining continuing professional development and building technical expertise across financial and children law matters.
Requirements
Essential- Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales.
- Experience of managing or supporting a caseload of family matters, with an interest in financial remedy work and privately funded children cases.
- Strong drafting skills with the ability to prepare clear and accurate court documents, financial disclosure and client correspondence in line with the Family Procedure Rules.
- Confident communication skills, with the ability to take detailed instructions and provide a professional and empathetic service to clients.
- Excellent interpersonal skills when working with colleagues, counsel and external professionals.
- Ability to manage competing priorities effectively, demonstrating resilience and a proactive approach to meeting deadlines.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with a high level of attention to detail, particularly in relation to financial information and case preparation.
- Experience of working with high-net-worth clients or exposure to complex asset profiles.
