Public Relations Account Executive - German speaking in Stafford

Technical PR agency Stone Junction is hiring for a German speaking PR professional to join its creative and growing team. We’re looking for applicants with PR, marketing or STEM backgrounds, who must speak fluent German, and excellent spoken and written English. This is an entry level role that would suit a recent graduate, or someone looking to step into the industry.

Salary range for this position: £25,000 - £28,000.

Overview:

Our clients come from a range of disciplines, so we are looking for applicants with a keen interest in technical and scientific writing and a passion for expanding their knowledge. It is essential you have an interest in science, technology and engineering, as the role will involve exclusively working on STEM clients.

You’ll be responsible for campaign delivery on a handful of exciting client accounts, producing quality content for articles, social media and email marketing shots. The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating in German over the phone to journalists based across the DACH region, is a strong relationship builder and enjoys learning about STEM subjects. We have multiple clients with presence across DACH, and earning them media coverage is an important part of our service.

You'd also be required to translate technical material from English to German, and vice versa, so it's important you're a native or highly proficient German speaker. Don’t worry if some of this is new to you. We have an extensive training programme to get you up to speed.

Please note we require all new starters to attend the office four days a week for the first three months, moving to a hybrid model of three days in the office following this period. This means we ideally require you to live within a one hour commute of Stafford, or be open to relocating.

Your day-to-day role in the office would involve:

• Researching and writing press releases, opinion articles, blog posts, case studies etc to targeted media outlets
• Maintaining the agency's relationships with DACH media, as well as building new contacts to extend our reach
• Pitching content to media in the UK and DACH, earning coverage for a range of STEM clients
• Finding news features and opportunities to promote your clients products, services and expertise
• Interviewing clients for content pieces and attending client meetings alongside their account managers and account directors
• Supporting your account team with general client management activities
• Monitoring the media for rapid response opportunities for clients
• Preparing regular client reports, collating, analysing and evaluating media coverage

Other essential skills include:

• The ability to form a rapport with client and journalists, face to face, over the phone and online
• A keen eye for science and engineering trends, and the ability to research them quickly and accurately
• Strong time management and communication with the ability to excel in a fast-paced and pressurised environment
