We are recruiting for a maternity cover Management Accountant based in our Derby office.
12 month fixed-term contract
£40k to £50k
We specialise in sustainable water asset management solutions, delivering exceptional value outcomes in potable water, wastewater and the environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assist in the preparation of annual/quarterly/monthly/weekly/daily financial statements and reports utilising Accounts Software.
- Maintain the MRS spreadsheet on a monthly basis, rolling it over and reconciling after review with the Company COO.
- Produce draft TBs with commentary to monthly timetable for Financial Controller review.
- Assist with the preparation of month end reporting to the board.
- Manage multiple Balance Sheet accounts including accruals, prepayments and intercompany.
- Manage company Fixed Asset register.
- Raise and process journals.
- Prepare group VAT return for Company Accountant review.
- Maintain and monitor HMRC records to ensure submissions and payments are made in line with timescales.
- Maintain Accounting system in line with the accounting timetable, ensuring cash, purchase ledger and sales ledger reconciled before closing and opening ledger periods.
- Update the cashflow forecast each period and review cash on a regular basis.
- Collate and complete year end analysis.
Qualifications
- Part Qualified CIMA / ACCA - operational level
- Previous experience of working in a busy Finance office
- Confident communicator in all formats across a variety of internal and external contacts
- Exemplary attention to detail, ensuring production of accurate financial reports
- Demonstrable experience of ledger accounting
- Strong IT skills, in particular MS Word, Excel and Outlook
